Quark wrap
The skin colour must not change with cold applications - risk of local hypothermia! In the case of a cow's milk contact allergy, test beforehand.
Application areas:
- Sore throat
- Sunburn/burns (only for superficial burns with uninjured skin)
- Sprains/bruises and contusions
- Headaches (not for tension headaches)
- Insect bites
Ingredients:
- Inner cloth (Fustian)
- Middle cloth (Cotton gauze)
- Outer cloth (Fustian)
- Possibly elastic bandage
- Low-fat quark without preservatives
Remove the quark from the fridge and leave it for a while.
Spread quark on the fustian (one to two centimetres thick) and fold into a pack of the right size. Place the quark compress on the affected area, cover with the cotton gauze and, depending on the size, fix the whole thing with the fustian, molleton or an elastic bandage.
Replace the compress when it grows warm.
